Morning Yin Yoga at the Shanti Home
Morning Yin Yoga: this deeply relaxing, Yin yoga class is very slow & deeply relaxing. Newcomers are welcome at anytime & will easily be able to follow the class.
Really, you can be any age to join the class but if you are more mature or just need to do something for yourself, this is the class for you!
What is a class like?
Yin yoga is deliberately led at a slower pace & we stay in each pose comfortably for anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes. We don’t do any crazy poses & you won’t be intimidated by some super-flexy 20-something :). We have many variations of each pose & choices of pose to suit your unique body & you will have plenty of time to experiment & ask questions.
Who can do Yin yoga?
Firstly, Yin yoga is subtle & deliberately slow, it is very accessible for all ages & abilities. Really, we don’t care how the pose looks from the outside, only how it feels for you & the benefits you are enjoying. In fact, two people can be doing the same pose & look completely different from the outside. Since both are working on the same body area & every body is different, it doesn’t matter how it looks.
In effect, this type of yoga is great for anyone who wants to completely relax. By getting into the deeper tissues of the body in these long, slow holds, you are giving your body & mind the time to let go, unwind & melt into a conscious state of bliss.
Honestly, you don’t need to be flexible already or have prior yoga experience to do Yin yoga.
